Welcome!

My name is Lauren, and I am a performer and teacher of Middle-Eastern Belly Dance in Belleville, Illinois.

I am the owner of Lotus Arts Studio in Belleville, where I teach yoga and bellydance classes. I also perform around the St. Louis area, as a soloist and with my repertory group, Hips Afire!

My specialty is Egyptian style beledi and raks sharki ("Belly Dance"). I also teach and perform Egyptian Saidi/Raks Assaya, Melaya Leff, and Shamadan, Turkish Romani, and American bellydance specialties like sword and veil. I'm known for my precision hipwork and cultural authenticity.

Lotus Arts Studio is now located at 6600 West Main, Suite 9 in Belleville.

I am actively seeking teachers to offer a wider variety of classes. If you know anyone who teaches African dance, hand drumming, Bollywood, Flamenco, Tai Chi, ballroom, etc. please have them contact me!
